Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could help the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Planners groups.
Audiences can expect finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
