The Austrian squad has announced a new line-up for the 2026 Formula 1 season, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its senior team and giving 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first Formula 1 seat. The young driver, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, is set to become team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB. This driver musical chairs means Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid following a five-year stint. A Star in the Making The British teen drove first practice for the British and Mexico City Grands Prix this year. The youngster was tagged as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old. Discussing the company's young driver programme, a senior Red Bull figure noted last year that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", praising his "raw pace". Red Bull has had a plan since last year to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City. The rookie said it was a "dream come true", commenting: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I am incredibly excited to get started." He has won a couple of victories in F2 this year and is sixth in the championship ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. A Major Opportunity for Hadjar Isack Hadjar enjoys his maiden top-three finish in F1, secured at the Zandvoort race this season. The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he crashed on the formation lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has emerged as one of the stand-out newcomers this season. His performances included an remarkable top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the championship. A senior team figure commented: "Isack has shown great maturity and proved to be a quick learner. Most importantly, he has the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can excel next to Max." Hadjar described it "an awesome move" and said he felt "prepared". Tsunoda's Exit To partner Lindblad at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda. The New Zealander started 2025 with the senior squad but was moved back after just two races. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with some strong performances, convincing Red Bull he deserves more time. Tsunoda, in contrast, loses his place after a disappointing season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship. These announcements mean that there remains no place on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
