President Trump Calls Loved Ones of Shot Military Soldiers to the White House

Former President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Tragic Shooting

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Gatherings across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.

White House Call

The president stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump addressed reporters. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Response

Mourners assembled over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to aid law enforcement in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the Associated Press. “She was kind, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Service details for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Steps and Policy Adjustments

Officials have charged a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the administration to suspend refugee claims and halt issuing entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey said on a news program.

Attorney general Pam Bondi stated on a news show that she also intended to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with distinction, per the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” the governor addressed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
